Pint-Size Explorers Magnifying Glass

Come explore the zoo and its animals during the colder months of the year! Kids will participate in a variety of activities, crafts, and hands-on animal encounters!

Pint Size Explorers
Program Length: 1.5 hours; Wednesdays OR Thursdays
Program Fee: $10/RRZ members; $70 for all 8 programs*
$15/non-members; $105 for all 8 programs*
*Discount in received only if student is registered for all 8 programs in advance

Zooniversity Magnifying Glass

Learn about animals and the environment through games, crafts, and hands-on animal encounters!
Please register in advance, as space is limited!

A non-refundable deposit of $25/session is required for all programs except Wolf PACKtivities and will be put towards the total program fee.
Program Descriptions

Senses Around

Use your senses to discover the many ways animals use their senses to survive in the wild! Participate in games, crafts, and animal encounters to see how humans and animals sense their surroundings.

On the Plains

Experience what life on the prairie is really like! Games, crafts, and animal encounters are centered around prairie animals, plants, and the history and culture of the Plains Indians. TENTATIVELY: First-Sixth grade grads will take a Thursday field trip to visit a real prairie!

Wolf Overnight (4th-6th Grade Grads)

A one of a kind overnight experience! Indoor and outdoor evening activities are focused on wolves and their behavior. Create some enrichment items for the wolves to enjoy. Roast marshmallows around a campfire, observe the wolves eating dinner and sleep in the wolf cabin!

Wolf PACKtivities (1st-3rd Grade Grads)

Spend some time learning about wolves and their behavior through games and activities. Each PACKtivity session involves different games and activities to better understand the ways of the wolf. Watch the wolves enjoy some toys you create!
