JUNIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Volunteer Opportunities

Face Painting: Paint faces for children in the carousel pavilion.

Barnyard Attendant: Supervise, interpret and maintain the domestic contact area animals.

Junior Docent: Present outreach animals to zoo visitors with the help of a trained adult docent.

Junior Supervisor: Supervise and manage junior zookeepers.

Requirements

  • Age between 12 and 17 years. Must be 12 by June 1st.
  • Fill out an application by deadline of April 15.
  • Attend all training sessions & meetings.
  • Become a member of the Red River Zoo.
  • Pay an annual program fee of $25 (includes t-shirt, name badge, and training materials)
  • Commit to a minimum of one day per week and one weekend per month.
