DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
Major Responsibility: Initiates, implements and coordinates all special event fundraisers, direct response fundraising and events. Develops fundraising strategies and programs, accurately tracks donor contributions and maintains donor correspondence.
Reports to: Executive Director
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm or as needed
Duties and Responsibilities:
- With the development team; plan, coordinate and implement special events and fundraising programs. Coordinate the solicitation of major sponsors; coordinate the follow up and recognition of major sponsors, donors and committee members.
- Research, track, assess and evaluate donor histories pertaining to fundraising activities, using the database; plan for targeted fund raising initiatives.
- Research grants sources and write grants to further fund RRZS and RRZ programs.
- Process accounts payable/receivable; supply accountant with necessary information to produce monthly financial statements; review and interpret said documents to insure accuracy of information.
- Attend finance committee meetings and supply committee with monthly financial reports; prepare fiscal budget with help of staff and committee members; act as a liaison among staff members, committee chairs and accountant.
- Provide information and work with auditors for annual audit of Society funds and activities.
- Compile, write articles and produce the Society’s quarterly newsletter.
- Maintain all general contribution records and correspondence. Enter and retrieve data, maintain records and generate reports.
- Maintain all records of membership programs, share the care, fund-raising activities, general donations. Process premiums, renewals, recognition and tracking.
- Order and maintain office equipment and supplies.
- Attend all board of director’s meetings and record minutes.
- Review and update website information and review for accuracy.
- Establish and maintain positive staff and public relations image.
- Perform other related duties as needed for the success of the organization.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Highly self-motivated achiever, yet a team player
- Superior interpersonal skills as demonstrated in effective oral and written communication skills, management and public presentations.
- Computer literate in basic database, donor and prospective donor research, powerpoint, and related donor and development software.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience in institutional development including fund-raising and development.
