Volunteer Opportunities

Guest Service: Assist zoo visitors in admissions, gift shop, and concession.

Carousel Attendant: Operate carousel for birthday parties and special events.

Gardeners
Special Events
Office Assistant
Junior zookeeper supervisor

Additional training and time commitment required for Docents and Animal Keepers.

Docents: Present animal education programs to on-site and off-site groups, give guided tours to groups visiting the zoo, work with the education animal collection and domestic contact area animals.

Animal Keepers: Care for exhibit animals and education animal collection.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Fill out an application and attend volunteer meetings.
• Become a member of the Red River Zoo.
• Pay a ONE time program fee of $25 (includes t-shirt or sweatshirt, name badge, training materials).
• Commit to a minimum of 5 hours/month.
