OUTREACH PROGRAMS

ZooMobile Outreach & ZooSchool Programs

Most programs can be adapted to suite any age level
All programs meet or contain elements to meet North Dakota State Science Standards

Animal Basics (mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds)

North Dakota Science Standards: 4.1.5, 4.2.1, 4.4.1, 8.1.5, 8.2.1, 8.4.5
Option 1: Choose to learn about mammals, reptiles, amphibians, or birds
Option 2: Choose a fast paced lesson discussing each class (this option can be extended to a 60 minute program for no extra fee)

Dressed for the Weather

Fur or feathers, scales or skin, every animal is dressed in something. Find out why different animals are dressed the way they are and how it helps them survive in their environment.

Maybe you’re just looking for a fun informative way to meet some of our outreach animals. Then this is the program for you! Get up close and personal with our furry, scaly, and feathers friends.

Home Sweet Habitat

A shelter is only one of the items an animal needs to survive. Learn about animal homes, the other items needed to survive, and explore a variety of habitats/biomes from around the world including the animals that live there!

Night and Day

Discover whooo stays awake when the sun goes down, who snoozes in the afternoon, and who sleeps when the stars shine.

Predator-Prey

Did you know some animals are vegetarians? Within a food chain there are carnivores, omnivores, herbivores, decomposers, plants, and scavengers; can one live without the other? Examine how all are linked in the delicate circle of life.

Did you know that over 95% of all animals are spineless? Take some time to examine some of these amazing animals and discover why they are so important to life as we know it.

Survival of the Fittest

Find out who’s the biggest, smallest, fastest, and heaviest! Investigate a variety of animal adaptations and determine whether or not they will help the animal survive in its appropriate habitat

Wildlife or Family Pet?

Not all animals make good pets. Learn what defines wildlife and explore which animals make good pets and why others are left in the wild.

Mileage Fees

A mileage charge will be added to the outreach cost based on the shortest driving distance from the zoo to your location! This fee will help maintain the ZooMobile and its ability to provide the community with our animal programs.
