Red River Zoo 2008 Calendar of Events
April 9th- Pint-size Explorers: "Fancy Feathers" from 9:30-11am.
April 13th- ZooVentures: "For the Birds" from 1:30-3:30pm.
April 17th- Pint-size Explorers: "Fancy Feathers" from 2-3:30pm.
April 19 - Earth Day: Free admission. Come celebrate with an environmental extravaganza from 12:00-4:00pm. Learn what you can do to make the planet a healthier place for you and your family.
May 3- Opening day: Open daily from 10:00am-8:00pm through Labor Day.
May 11- Mother's Day: Free admission for all moms.
May 18— Teddy Bear Adventure: Free admission for children accompanied by a teddy bear.
May 30- Safety Safari: Come learn about safety for kids with the Safe Kids Coalition and AAA of North Dakota from 3:00-8:00pm. Admission is free.
June 7— Zoofari: All day celebration with a scavenger hunt, variety of free activities and popcorn. Sponsored by Dex Media.
June 10th-12th- Critter Camp: Ages 4, 5 & 6
June 15— Father’s Day: Free admission for all dads.
June 16th-19th- Zooniversity Day Camp: 1st-3rd grade graduates.
June 23rd-26th- Zoonivsity Day Camp: 4th-6th grade graduates.
July 1st-2nd- Wild Nights: Zoo overnight camp out for 4th -6th grade graduates.
July 8th-10th- Critter Camp: Ages 4, 5 & 6
July 9— "Book it to the Zoo": Bring a book and receive a dollar off admission (books donated to a local charity).
July 14th-17th- Zooniversity Day Camp: 1st-3rd grade graduates.
July 19— Creature Creations: Enjoy a variety of art activities while viewing original creations by the zoo animals.
July 21st-24th- Zooniversity Day Camp: 4th-6th grade graduates.
August 2— Party Animal: You can be the party animal for this birthday celebration for the zoo animals.
August 5th-7th- Critter Camp: Ages 4, 5 & 6
August 12-13th- Wild Nights: Zoo overnight camp out for 4th-6th grade graduates.
August 16— Conservation Carnival: Enjoy a variety of activities and games while learning about conservation.
August 23 & 24— Dog Days of Summer: Learn more about “Man’s Best Friend”.
September 2— Zoo Hours Change: Zoo opens Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 12:00-4:00 pm through October.
September 10— Member Appreciation Night: An exclusive party for the Red River Zoological Society members, includes picnic style dinner, behind-the-scene tours and door prizes.
September 14th- ZooVentures: "Animal Tracks & Signs"
from 1:30-3pm.
September 14— Grandparents Day: Free admission for all grandparents.
October 18th- ZooVentures: "Creepy Crawlers" from 7-8:30pm.
October 25 & 26— ”Night Eyes” Howloween Event: Come in costume & enjoy trick-or-treating through the Red River Zoo along with other spooky activities from 12:00 – 7:00 pm.
November 1— Winter Hours Begin: Zoo will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00-4:00 pm weather dependant.
November 10— Zoolute to Soldiers: Free admission for veterans from 12:00-4:00 pm.
December 13-14 & 20-21— Holly Jolly Zoo Days: Visit with Santa Claus and his reindeer, enjoy cookies, cocoa and other fun activities from 12:00-4:00 pm at the Red River Zoo.
November 16th- ZooVentures: "Turkey Talks" from 1:30-3pm.
